Step into the world of malas, also known as japamalas, a form of sensory jewelry with roots dating back to the 8th century BCE. This intentional, hands-on craft workshop is guided by the instructors of Through Breath Yoga and invites participants to create a traditional 108 bead mala with purpose and mindfulness.During this experience, you will learn:
A brief history and spiritual significance of malas
Intention setting practices for mindful creation
Traditional knotting techniques
Proper care and storage of your finished mala
This workshop offers three start times. Participants are welcome to stay until their mala is complete or until the store closes for the day. Whether it is your first mala or part of an established spiritual practice, this experience is designed to be supportive, grounding, and meaningful.

8 mm Mala Kit
The 8 mm mala hangs lower on the body and typically rests around the belly button. It has a slightly heavier feel when worn.

Extending Your Practice
With the purchase of a mala kit, students are encouraged to join a complementary yoga class led by Through Breath Yoga on May 29th (6pm) at Connect With Source, where instructors will demonstrate how to intentionally incorporate your handmade mala into gentle movement, japa meditation, and breathwork practices. This creates a beautiful opportunity to bring your crafted piece into embodied movement and personal ritual.
