The German-American Society at 3717 South 120th Street is proud to announce we are hosting our Annual Maifest on May 30, 2026 from 12 noon to 9:00 pm. Come and enjoy traditional German food such as Bratwurst, Currywurst, Leberkäse, Käsespätzle and the list goes on. We also have premier entertainment with our own Sängerchor singing traditional German songs of Spring. Then we have our Heimat Tänzer German dance group who will be wearing traditional dress from the various Provinces of Germany where their families came from. They will also be performing the Maibaumtanz or Bandltanz, which is the Maypole Dance. Then we also have our Singenden Wanderer singers who will get the crowd going with Beer drinking songs and audience participation. We will also have 2 premier bands playing throughout the day which are the Leo Lonnie Polka Band and the Happy Players. The marketplace under the stage will have food items and other items for sale under the stage plus some of our Sub- Organizations such as Caps for Cancer will also be selling items to raise money for supplies. Out in the West parking lot we will have a Biergarten where we will have Beer Poking, Hammerschlagen, beer making demonstration from the BUV and tables to sit at and enjoy the outdoors. One of the highlights of the day is the Crowning of the Maifest King and Queen. Anyone over 21 years of age can enter and must be dressed in some form of German Dress. All of our Fests are Family friendly. Maifest is open to the public, there is no admission fee and there is free parking. So come down with the whole family and immerse yourself in the German Culture for a day enjoying the traditional German celebration of Spring. We hope to see you there.
