The Cheltenham Phil invite you to join them for our first concert of 2025 - celebrating the music of Mahler, Mozart and Schubert in the glorious surroundings of the Princess Hall, Cheltenham Ladies College. Our concert is dedicated to the memory of Jenny Jones. Jenny was a longstanding cellist in the Phil who sadly died in 2024. As well as being a member of the cello section Jenny was the orchestra treasurer. She was a wonderful friend to many of us and is greatly missed. We hope that those that knew Jenny will be able to join us to celebrate her life and contribution to the musical life of Cheltenham.
We are delighted to be featuring our Principal Bassoon Freddie Brewer. Freddie will perform Mozart's Bassoon Concerto - written in 1774 when Mozart was just eighteen years of age. It is a piece full of musical and technical brilliance. The concert also features Mahler's lyrical, emotional and dramatic Symphony No 1 - a famous and popular work.
Come and join us for an afternoon of music in wonderful surroundings as we celebrate amateur music making in Cheltenham.
