About the Brooks Museum League
The objectives of the League are to promote education in fine arts and to support the projects and programs of the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.
The League has a long history of educating the youth of the city. Early on, League members visited various schools with art prints, later bringing the school children to the Museum for art appreciation classes. These and other endeavors evolved into the Junior Mid-South Exhibition an annual juried show for students. In 1988, the Junior Mid-South Exhibition became a multi-state regional affiliate of the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, Inc., flourishing into today’s Mid-South Scholastic Art Awards.
