About this Event
Close out the programming week with something different — a night of Mahjong at Good Morning Maxwell in Livermore.
Whether you've never touched a tile or you've been playing for years, this evening is for you. We'll start with a guided tutorial on traditional Mahjong — rules, strategy, and etiquette — then move into a friendly tournament with rotating tables and prizes.
It's a night to learn something new, share a table with neighbors, and support a cause that matters. All proceeds from the Mahjong for Memory fundraiser benefit a coalition of Bay Area organizations working with families affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
The evening includes:
• Mahjong 101 tutorial — no experience necessary, all skill levels welcome
• Friendly tournament play with rotating tables
• Prizes for tournament winners
• Refreshments and light beverages provided by Grounded Coffee
Why Mahjong?
Mahjong is a game built on pattern recognition, strategy, and social connection — exactly the kinds of cognitive engagement that matter when we talk about brain health. It's also just a really good time. Come for the cause, stay for the tiles.
Where do the proceeds go?
100% of net proceeds support Memory Care Together's beneficiary coalition — a group of Bay Area nonprofits serving families affected by Alzheimer's and dementia through patient care, caregiver support, and research.
This event is part of Memory Care Together 2026 — a series of community events raising awareness and support for those affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. Hosted by Grounded Coffee in honor of its third anniversary.
