Magnús Jóhann is an acclaimed Icelandic composer and instrumentalist known for his unique blend of classical and contemporary music.
Many Iceland Airwaves fans will know him from performing with some of Iceland's biggest stars over the years but in 2024 his only Airwaves performance will be his Smekkleysa off-venue showcase.
Magnús Jóhann will appear solo and perform a selection of works from his various releases on piano and synthesizers. His evocative soundscapes merge minimalist piano with jazz and electronic elements resulting in an ethereal and dynamic sound.
Magnús Jóhann has already released six LPs and two original scores. In 2024 he released Fermented Friendship with Óskar Guðjónsson (LP) and the original score for Odd Fish.
