About this Event
Join Glasgow-based Magnus Westwell and collaborators for an informal studio sharing marking the end of his Dance Base residency. Caught Hold of Nothing is a new live work by Magnus Westwell.
ABout the project: Building on a series of shorter projects and residencies, Magnus is undertaking a development period in Scotland with 5 dancers to create a full length production. The final week of development will take place at Dance Base, and culminates in a sharing of the work-in-progress.
The work unfolds across shifting sonic and choreographic structures, exploring memory, absence, transformation and belonging. Through repetition, failure, and decay in sound, movement, and light, the work appears to collapse before the audience’s eyes, falling apart until it reaches a vulnerable and cathartic state.
Supported by Creative Scotland and Dance Base's in kind residency programme.
