The Maghera support group will be back at The Lurach Centre from 6:30 - 8pmHDANI support groups are free to attend and open to adults at risk, living with or impacted by Huntington's Disease as well as carers, partners and family members. While there is no strict age limit, those under the age of eighteen may be interested in our youth support programme, please get in touch for more details, [email protected]
Support groups are facilitated by a Family Support Worker who keeps everyone up to date with our work, events services and also acts as a point of information, practical and emotional support. The groups are a chance to meet and learn from other people affected by Huntington's Disease and benefit from professional support all in an informal, non-judgemental space over a cuppa. Where possible we invite in guests to share learning on topics relevant to the group for example benefits, rights, health and wellbeing while also providing carers and patients an opportunity to share their knowledge of Huntington's Disease and its impact on families with the aim of improving understanding and improving practice.
