Starting from Carsington main Visitor Centre car park this ride is approx 8 miles and takes in green lanes, country lanes and some of the Carsington circular route. Hills is the name of the game with undulations the whole way round. The views from the top down onto the reservoir and around the surrounding countryside are fabulous. If all riders are happy to do so this route offers some good canter opportunities.View the route demo here:
Worth noting: The gradients on this ride are quite challenging so you and your horse will need a reasonable level of fitness.
There are short sections of the route which are stony underfoot including one downhill.
Part of the route crosses farmland where cattle and sheep may be grazing.
On the Carsington section there may be cyclists and walkers with dogs or pushchairs.
Parking is pay on exit with maximum charges of £6 for the whole day.
All riders must have their own BHS Gold or equivalent Public Liability Insurance. Under 18's are welcome, but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider. Group sizes are limited to 6 plus guide.
