Machine Sewing: Beginners4 Saturdays

Cost: $188 + hst
In this beginner sewing class for adults, you will learn how to use the features of a sewing machine, how to follow a pattern, and create a functional lined tote bag and zippered pouch using basic techniques.
Only 5 spots available in these 4-week sessions, a smaller class size allows for more one-on-one instruction and machines are provided. Students are required to bring a basic sewing kit and fabrics as noted below.
Please bring the following supplies:
• Fabric scissors
• Straight pins
• Stitch ripper
• Tailor's chalk
* Fabric needed for tote bag:
- 1 yard of exterior fabric such as canvas, duck cloth, denim, or cotton
- 1/2 yard of lining fabric
- 1 yard of interfacing
- Matching thread
* Fabric needed for zippered pouch:
- 2 coordinating cotton fat quarters
- Matching thread
- 1/2 meter interfacing (fusible preferred, but not mandatory)
- 6 or 7” zipper
