Kiddo and the Kat are back, and we need your help for round two! With the cold weather approaching, we're in a race against time to collect as many pairs of clean socks, underwear, slippers and pajamas pants as we can get our mitts on. What are these two underpant-vigilantes up to this time? Why, giving that comfort to those who need it, of course! How can you help? So glad you asked...
For you we have a perilous quest! To Walmart! Or Winners. Or La Senza, if you get the comfortable stuff. Dollarama does fantastic in a pinch too. There, you will purchase some fine, clean, comfortable undergarments, and bring them to Wooden Walls Distilling on Saturday, November 16th! At 7:30pm!
Supporting and celebrating your efforts, are these amazingly generous talents: Veronica Dymond, Charli, Josh Menchions, Inara Dolce, Jenna Makrides, Greta Getaround, Mike Fardy, Lolita Lawless, Sarah Walsh, Tabitha Katz, and Vanessa Matthews.
We need briefs, boxers, boxer-briefs, socks, slippers, pajama pants, and leggings in all sizes for all genders! As your reward, we will dance! And tell you stories! And give you prizes! For your offerings are more precious than you may ever imagine, as they will spread immeasurable warmth and comfort. Every citizen deserves comfort!
And, tonal shift, for some of us it can be harder to get that consistently. Particularly folks admitted to hospital unexpectedly, and who may not have access to family and friends who can bring that comfort to them. For that reason, we are collecting a small stockpile of items to be kept on hand for people admitted to the Waterford Hospital.
From there, they will be given to a Lifewise Peer Supporter who works full time providing support and comfort to visitors and patients of the Waterford hospital. Last time, we collected enough to last ~almost~ an entire year. This time, we'd like to collect enough to surpass a year.
So, be a hero! Come on down to Wooden Walls at 7:30 on Saturday, November 16th. And bring some socks.
