For the month of April, join our Writer-in-Residence, Linda Holmes Bond at Macaulay House! Linda writes creative nonfiction packed with images, chuckles, and insights. Her spirited narratives have appeared in "Tales2Inspire – the Opal" and "Diamond Collections", Florida’s "Lifestyles After 50", and "Writers On The Air".
She initiated and co-authored "STORIED – Chronicles by the Circle of Six", a Canada Book Award-winning collection of memoir short stories.
Linda is also known for her “Writers Helping Writers” initiatives. Her original "Writing Your Life Stories—Making It Happen" workshop series sparked new writers and writing groups. Keeping the momentum going, she currently teams up with novelist Joy Lynn Goddard in collaboration with the Quinte Arts Council to present the "Long Story Short" writing workshop programs designed to help guide writers on to their next level.
To showcase and promote local authors, Linda created and hosted PAGES, a popular public program at the Belleville Library, where readers and writers gathered to hear and celebrate the written word.
Born and raised in Prince Edward County, Linda is looking forward to her next literary adventure as Writer in Residence at Macaulay House in Picton, which, by the way, was the Bond family homestead of her husband, Martin.
Some stories you just can’t make up!
Linda would love to have you come by to tour this beloved historic house, and to chat as she continues to work on her memoir in progress. She will be at Macaulay House (35 Church Street, Picton) on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1pm-4pm throughout the month of April.
