Hi everyone,
Come and celebrate Mabon with us on the 25th of septemeber Saturday at 14 pm in Conham River park.
Mabon is a modern pagan name for the Autumn Equinox, when once again light and dark are in balance and day and night are equal length.
It can be a seasonal transition as nature move towards winter. The season of harvest and leaf fall.
We celebrate the abundance the year has brought us and the fruits of our efforts, both inner and outer.
Mabon is about offering and gratitude hence we are going to make our own offering to the spirits of the land and remembering that we are part of the cycles of life.
Make sure that your offering is biodegradable and can be eaten by local wildlife.
I recommend to bring seed cake for birds, or plain seeds as I am going to have some materials to give out and kids and families are able to make there own offerings.
Children are going to have some activities such as leaf collecting, drawing ,crafting.
Families can bring along outdoor games for their children or anything that they can contribute with.
Things you need to bring along :
- dried fruits, nuts, seeds and /or raw vegetables.
-warm clothing
-donation(book, plant, anything you do not need anymore and happy to give it away. One item /family is enough)
-Food to share (vege)
-Your own cup,cutlery,plate
-fleece /something to sit on
-drink(please note that this event is going to be alcohol free)
(-wool thread if you have any, if not no need to worry I am going to have threads instead)
It is going to be so much fun, meeting new people, playing with children and teaching them how to appreciate nature ,how to celebrate harvest and enjoy the fall colours. Getting out to nature and giving something back to it. Slow down and appreciate every moment of our lives.
At 17:30 pm we are going to have a 10 minutes meditation to finish the event and say “thank you” out loud.
I am going to have a notebook and pen by the mabon altar where people can freely write down their own gratitude and create our gratitude journal :)
Apples are common symbol of the second harvest so you may bring apples and we can bake them in foil over the camp fire.
Hope to see you there :)
Please note that, in chance or heavy rain the event is going to be postponed. For any question please do not hesitate to get in touch.
