Mabon is many things: the autumnal equinox (equal day and night), day of balance, the first day of fall, and the second harvest. Sometimes Mabon is called the Pagan Thanksgiving because it is also a time of feasting, celebrating, and giving thanks for a bountiful harvest, be it be an actual harvest of crops or the rewards of completing a goal. This is a great time to practice gratitude if you haven't been able to for reasons and the sharing of extra bounty.
The ritual for Mabon will talk about starting a gratitude practice and the ritual will be showing gratitude for ourselves, which many of us do not do. I'm going to challenge you to see yourself in a different light.
I'd like to have a community altar so bring things that you are grateful for or represents what you are grateful for to put on the altar.
I also ask for donations that will be taken to DoorStep
Donations can include
-Non-perishable foods (cereal, oatmeal, canned fruit, canned soups etc)
-Old clothes you do not wear anymore that are in good condition
-Hygiene products (deodorant, tooth paste/brushes, shampoo), etc)
please visit https://www.doorsteptopeka.org/donate/ for a complete list
After the ritual will be a potluck.
After the potluck will be a craft (TBD)
This is a family friendly event so feel free to bring your littles!
