About this Event

Join us for a fun-filled, Mabo-inspired paint and sip afternoon with Boneta-Marie Mabo, granddaughter of the legendary Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose tireless fight for Indigenous land rights changed Australian history. Come together to celebrate his remarkable legacy through creativity, community, and connection.

About Boneta-Marie Mabo
Boneta-Marie is a Meriam, Munbarra, and Nywaigi artist of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and South Sea Islander heritage. A mother, Pr*son abolitionist, and passionate creative, her work spans visual arts, costume design, community arts, and advocacy, exploring themes of justice, resistance, and truth. Following in her grandfather’s footsteps, Boneta is an activist whose dedication to social justice is reflected in her art.

Energetic and engaging, Boneta will guide you through an afternoon of creativity and fun as you create your own unique Mabo-inspired painting—a meaningful keepsake to commemorate Mabo Day on June 3rd.
