Students in grades 5 - 8 are encouraged to share their creative skills and have a chance to win a cash prize and have their artwork on display in the Gallery on the Square in Millersburg!Students may choose any art medium to create an original 2D work of art (with no outside help).
The winners' artwork will be displayed in the Gallery on the Square from Wed., Feb. 5th through Sat., March 1st.
Students must have their artwork dropped off at the Gallery the week before, so the Gallery staff can hang the exhibit.
Drop-off times:
Wed., Jan. 29th, 3 - 6 pm
Thurs., Jan. 30th, 9 am - 6 pm
Friday, Jan. 31st, 9 am - 7 pm
Sat., Feb. 1st between 10 am - 2 pm
To enter this competition, email a clear image of your piece of artwork to be judged in addition to the completed release form to: [email protected]. The release form can be found in the 'Discussion' section of this FB event.
Submissions can be made by parents or by teachers on behalf of the students.
Digital submissions MUST be received by January 18th, 2025.
Who is eligible to enter?
Students in grades 5 -8 who live in one of the local school districts. This includes:
- Millersburg
- Halifax
- Upper Dauphin
- Williams Valley
- Tri-Valley
- Line Mountain
- NDCS
The Millersburg Area Art Association (MAAA) will be awarding cash prizes in each grade.
1st - $25.00
2nd - $15.00
3rd - $10.00
Artwork Requirements:
All artwork must be made by the student alone. Each student may choose their own theme and art medium. Work cannot exceed 9” x 12”. Artwork must also be able to be hung.
If the artwork is not in a frame with eye hooks and wire, the artwork must have a string attached to the back. Copyright images are prohibited (Disney, Pixar, comics, etc.).
