West Art is so happy to welcome Lyle de Vitry for a hometown album release show for his debut record, Door Within A Dream. An acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he grew up in Lancaster but is now based in Asheville, SC. His classical training, combined with an intricate fingerpicking guitar style, and a commitment to rich composition make for a beautifully unique brand of folk music- a voice all of his own. Charlie Muench, a songwriter and producer who also originally hails from Lancaster, will be joining to round an evening of beautiful music beneath the stained glass at West Art. Charlie just put out a great new album as well- You Were Dreaming. Grab your tickets and join us for an evening of music and community here at West Art. >> Doors will open at 7. The show will start at 7:30.
>> Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door if not sold out. As always, we’re proud to present an all-ages show with discounted tickets available for students.
>> We will have beer from Our Town Brewery for sale, along with a few non-alcoholic options. This is not BYOB.
>> Parking may be available in the small lot across the street. Beyond that, there’s parking available around Buchanan Park and F&M College in the blocks surrounding West Art.
>> Seating: This will be a mostly seated show, with some standing room available as well. We suggest arriving when the doors open if you'd like to sit. Our space is ADA accessible, and we will do our best to accommodate any specific needs.

Artist Bios:
Lyle de Vitry: Much like life itself, the music of Lyle de Vitry comes in cycles. With his intricate, ambient fingerpicking guitar style and suede-soft baritone voice, de Vitry mesmerizes audiences into meditative serenity. Immersed in rich and nuanced harmonic composition, listeners are gently drawn into the here and now. Effortlessly moving between unity and dissonance, voice and instrumentation, rhythm and melody, de Vitry seamlessly integrates the comfort of folk music with the spine-shivering emotional release and intentionality of classical compositions. In so doing, he manages to create a sound as dynamic and honest as the ocean’s eternally flowing tides or the planet’s ever-changing seasons.
Lyle de Vitry is an acclaimed songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In 2023, he was selected as one of ten finalists in the internationally recognized Telluride Troubadours contest and was named runner-up in the NewSong LEAF Singer-Songwriter Competition. He recently completed the prestigious Residency at 821 hosted by Lamplight AVL in Asheville, NC, and is currently developing an instrumental album, set to be recorded in the summer of 2024. His debut album, Door Within a Dream, is set to be released in August 2024.
Charlie Muench: Charlie in the Question Mark is the solo project of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Muench. Playing mostly supportive roles as a musician throughout his career, You Were Dreaming puts him front and center for the first time. The songs set him on a new course, seeking to leave behind stagnant and wooden ideas about what it means to be a musician and a creative being. The record is a collection of songs that seeks sweeping emotional honesty and deep-dives into the subconscious. Out June 28, 2024.
