KRAAK and Q-O2 are stoked to host the release concert of Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh’s latest album Lux Gratis, out on CD February 18! Resulting from her 2024 residency in Q-O2, Lux Gratis takes Ailbhe down new roads of experimentation, integrating organs and electronics into her unrestrained sonic parlance. Flanked by the new-fangled duo of Steenkiste & Bischoff and their ringing drone magic, we’re all set to gather around for a night of auditory rapture alongside all ye eager-eared out there.

Glasgow-based Dublin native Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh explores the possibilities of gut strings and wood in both amplified and acoustic contexts. Some years after the KRUTian release The Rounds and following her 2024 residency at Q-O2, KRAAK is proud to present her new album Lux Gratis. With this release, Ailbhe changes gears to deepen her exploration of live instrumentation and pre-recorded soundscapes, further affecting her militant sonic language which not only proves to be an valuable exercise in tonal expansiveness but also serves as a commentary on the world around her. She will present the album with live renditions and improvisations, with Brussels-based fellow Dubliner Sam Comerford on reeds!

𓈃𓇔 Steenkiste & Bischoff 𓇔𓈃
The Belgo-Swiss duo of Glen Steenkiste (formerly of Silvester Anfang infamy and currently of Hellvete, Mertens/Steenkiste, and 's Land Welvaren) and Sebastian Bischoff (aka Son of Buzzi) draw from Western and Central European folk music to forget haunting reverberations of drone and melody, interweaving of harmonium, dulcimer, guitar, banjo and electronics to transporting effect. This will be their debut performance in Brussels, with a self-titled debut album seeing the day via Stoned To Death Records sometime this year.
