Set in the round, this one-of-a-kind performance invites guests to sit among Anderson’s vibrant depictions of the Gulf Coast’s flora and fauna, as Dickinson translates the essence of the artwork into a soulful musical journey.

Mississippi Murals will be the ninth annual show that Dickinson has performed at WAMA. The night will unfold with an acoustic, instrumental sound—blending jazz and symphonic influences into a laid-back, meditative journey. Performers include Luther Dickinson, Marc Franklin, Callaghan Miles, Gulf Coast Symphony Youth Orchestra Quartet, Art Edmaiston, Jim Spake, Adam Abrashoff, and Wesley Daniels. This performance reintroduces Dickinson’s original orchestrations, recently released as a collectors’ LP.
Mississippi Murals embodies the movement of Walter Anderson’s dynamic mural panels to create a contemplative, immersive atmosphere that invites guests to absorb the timeless connections between music and visual art. A 12 inch vinyl, Mississippi Murals, is available for purchase at WAMA’s gift shop, as well as online for $35. A limited special offer will be available for ticket holders to purchase an album and ticket combo for $100. General admission tickets are available for $75 each, seating is limited.
