LũpḁGangGang is a band that opts for a balance between instrumental and vocal, between improvisation and written music.
This Belgian eclectic jazz band came up with their first EP Stalingrad' in 2020. Two years later they released a second EP ‘Urban Detox’. On it, an amalgam of influences from jazz, punk, funk, hip-hop and electronica comes together to create an interesting middle ground of four young wolves. Their debut album 'Dopamine Overdose', was released in 2023 on the leading label Sdban Ultra (ECHT!, TaxiWars). Layered instrumental fusion jazz compositions alternate with angular pop songs and socially critical lyrics.
A sound of their own manifests itself firmly but the indebtedness to groups like Black Midi, Kamaal Williams and STUFF. is audible.
LũpḁGangGang fluctuates between seeking and finding. It is best to experience that search live, because the constant enthusiasm and the indomitable energy they get from this, perhaps makes the search even more interesting than the finding!
