Jamie McClenaghan is a Scottish-born flautist with a passion for performance and collaboration. A student and scholar at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in the heart of London, Jamie’s musical journey began in a family deeply rooted in the arts, making a career in music almost inevitable. Jamie’s drive and versatility as a musician have led to remarkable achievements early in his career. He holds the flute chair in the West End show Marie Curie. Expanding into the film industry, Jamie has starred in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming movie Frankenstein, performing live on screen. Most recently, he has had the opportunity to play alongside the English National Ballet in their 2024/2025 production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. Orchestrally, Jamie has performed with numerous ensembles across the UK such as the Orion Orchestra, Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, and the Odyssey Festival Orchestra. These opportunities have helped boast his reputation as a well- experienced and expressive performer. Currently under the mentorship of renowned flautist Karen Jones, Jamie continues to refine his artistry.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond his undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy, Jamie is hoping to pursue further studies abroad, broadening his musical horizons and mastering his expertise. With a diverse background and an ambitious outlook in the music industry we see today, Jamie is a rising star in the world of classical and contemporary music.

"You have this musicality, the one which people rarely have, the one which is like a

gift from god” - Silvia Caredd
