ZOË GILBY & ANDY CHAMPION: THE MUSIC OF DUKE ELLIGTON
Edward Kennedy ‘Duke’ Ellington was one of the towering figures of twentieth century music. In a career spanning five decades, from Prohibition-era New York City jazz clubs to the world’s greatest concert halls, Duke Ellington (composer, arranger, pianist, bandleader) enjoyed global fame. At this Jazz at the Lit & Phil lunchtime concert, award-winning vocalist Zoë Gilby and renowned bassist Andy Champion will perform a selection of Ellington’s many signature compositions.
