British jazz guitarist and composer Lee Jones completed a PhD in music composition at the University of Salford in 2019 and was a finalist in the 2025 Made in New York Jazz Competition. He will perform a selection of American songbook standards and original arrangements for solo jazz guitar from his solo albums St Owens Sessions and A New Standard, including ‘Blue Moon’ and ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’. About our Lunchtime Concert Series:
A series of lunchtime concerts was launched in April 2013 to encourage city workers and others to come into and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral during the day. These weekly concerts at 1pm on Wednesdays provide fine music and space for contemplation in the midst of a busy week.
