Welcome to a guest artist talk with returning guest artists Duo TonSatz, Wednesday May 27 at 12:00.
Since 2000, the German duo TonSatz has been intertwining poetry and music in a close creative dialogue. This May and June, they are in residence at LKV Trondheim to continue their multi-year exploration of the life of the German-Norwegian painter Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer (1903–1991) – a project they began in 2024.
The themes for the presentation will be:
1. Introductory information about Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer and our Duo TonSatz
2. Presentation of a short video (2.5 minutes): Created at the request of Neadalen Art Association for the exhibition SELBU 1825–2025 (3–12 September 2025), as a musical‑literary preview in preparation for the concluding event in 2027.
3. Results of a study trip through Central Norway in August 2025, searching for the locations where Marianne painted some of her works.
4. Transcription of the documentary film “Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer – An Artist Portrait (1976)”, biographical insight into Marianne’s life through an interview with her.
5: Insight into our literary‑musical workshop. The challenges of translating poetry. Followed by a presentation of a poem and its corresponding musical setting as a choral work. Why a choral work in particular?
6: Time for questions and answers.
Since this is their 3rd residency at LKV and the project is growing rapidly, the presentation will be an hour long.
