Founder of the nonprofit August’s Artists, Erica Olenski never set out to start an arts organization—she was a mother navigating the unthinkable: her son’s pediatric brain cancer diagnosis. In the midst of long hospital stays and emotionally charged days, Erica discovered the calming, connective power of art—specifically, drawing with window crayons alongside her son. That simple act sparked something bigger. Out of grief, creativity, and a deep desire to help other families feel seen, August’s Artists was born. Erica will join us to talk about her journey from caregiver to founder, the mission behind August’s Artists, and how she’s building a creative movement to bring comfort, expression, and healing into hospital rooms.
Join us to hear about finding purpose through creativity, and how art—even in the smallest form—can transform lives. Lunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers. Lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. All are welcome. The event is free
