By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify common signs of stress, burnout, and emotional distress in employees and understand how they may show up in the workplace.
2. Describe the impact of mental health on employee performance, retention, and team dynamics, including the business case for investing in well-being.
3. Recognize the role of leadership and organizational culture in promoting or hindering psychological safety and employee wellness.
4. Implement at least three practical strategies for supporting mental health in the workplace, including communication approaches, policy considerations, and wellness resources.
5. Develop a more supportive, stigma-free environment that encourages open conversations and early intervention around mental health concerns.
Presenter:
Katie Silver, LCSW-C, BCD, is a highly experienced trauma therapist, business consultant, and the Founder of two mental health entities- Silver Psychotherapy and Wellness Wherever. Both are leading outpatient mental health practices serving Maryland and Pennsylvania. Katie specializes in trauma-focused therapy, and provides evidence-based treatment for individuals navigating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and related challenges.
Licensed to practice in both Maryland and California, Katie is committed to offering mental health services within the business community to further strengthen employees and address core issues that arise within the workplace. Her dedication extends beyond clinical work—Katie has served as an adjunct professor at the graduate level, mentoring future mental health professionals. Katie remains deeply engaged in mental health advocacy and is passionate about supporting women in business through business consulting for mental health entrepreneurs, helping them grow sustainable, ethical practices with a particular emphasis on elevating female-led organizations.
