About this Event
Join us for an informative presentation by Emily Button, Outreach Manager with the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Office of Tenant and Landlord Affairs.
This session will cover the Tenant Right to Purchase and Right of First Refusal laws, along with the Maryland Tenants’ Bill of Rights, which took effect July 1, 2025. With these laws now active, understanding how they apply in real transactions is essential. We will also be reviewing new notice requirements for evictions effective October 1st 2025.
Ms. Button from Marylands Office of Tenant and Landlord Affairs will explain how these requirements impact sellers, listings, and rental properties, and how the expanded protections and obligations for residential tenants and owners can affect your business and client representation. Attendees will gain practical insight into compliance, enforcement trends, and how to navigate transactions under the current legal framework.
Maryland has significantly increased housing and tenant rights enforcement. This class is designed to help real estate professionals stay informed, compliant, and prepared.
