Join us for our Lunch & Learn to Unleash Your Inner Sculptor: An Air-Dry Clay Workshop

This workshop invites you to explore the world of clay and unleash your creativity over lunch! We’ll be using air-drying clay, a beginner-friendly material that allows you to create unique and personalized pieces without the need for a kiln.

What to expect:

• Introduction to air-drying clay: Your experienced instructor Rachel Akers will start by explaining the properties of air-drying clay, its different types, and basic handling techniques. You’ll get comfortable kneading, rolling, and shaping the clay.

• Project inspiration: Our instructor will present various project ideas, ranging from simple ornaments and bowls to more intricate sculptures and figures. Choose a project that resonates with you or come prepared with your own ideas!

• Step-by-step guidance: The instructor will demonstrate essential techniques like pinching, coiling, smoothing, and adding texture. They’ll provide personalized guidance and support throughout the workshop, ensuring you feel confident in your creations.

• Hands-on creation: Dive into the creative process! With all the tools and materials provided, you’ll bring your chosen project to life. Feel free to experiment, explore different techniques, and let your imagination run wild.

• Finishing touches: Learn how to smooth imperfections, add details, and personalize your creations. We’ll explore various finishing options like painting, sanding, and varnishing (depending on the project).

• Sharing and celebrating: Take a moment to showcase your finished masterpieces! We’ll celebrate everyone’s creativity and share tips and tricks for future clay adventures.
