Step back into Bellingrath’s history with a rare discovery — a 1957 reel-to-reel recording of Frank Woodard sharing memories of his personal relationship with Mr. Bellingrath and singing one of “Mr. Bell’s” favorite gospel hymns. During this special program, guests will enjoy lunch while listening to curated clips from the recording, along with reflections from Home Director Tom McGehee, Mr. Frank’s granddaughters, and longtime Bellingrath employees Gale Moore and Meg Mosely. The afternoon also features a fishing camp–inspired lunch with crispy fried catfish, creamy mac and cheese, classic Southern coleslaw, golden hush puppies, and a slice of bright, tangy lemon cake. Drinks are available for purchase separately.
Admission includes access to the Gardens, so you can stroll through the season’s blooms before or after the program. It’s more than a luncheon — it’s an opportunity to experience the stories, voices, and traditions that shaped Bellingrath, all in the place where it began.
