About Our Speaker:
Emily Downing-Mahli is an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner who completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2002 and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of California Los Angeles in 2016.
Her career includes managing high-risk patients during post-acute hospitalization, a successful pilot as a post-discharge visit nurse practitioner to reduce hospital readmissions, and a broad range of experience in older adult care from wellness to end-of-life care in various settings.
Emily helped to run Cedars-Sinai’s Geriatric Fracture Program where inpatient care is optimized for older adults who sustain fractures and initiate secondary fracture and fall prevention. In her current role at Cedars-Sinai, Emily provides outpatient neuropalliative care to persons living with serious neurological disorders.
