Lunch and Learn: Sustainability with DACAL (Somos Dacal) from Argentina – Presented by DAE Creative Bootcamp - Wednesday 3rd July - 1.45pm - 4pm (Food and Refreshments provided)
We are joined by Flor Dacal, Creative Director for DACAL (Somos Dacal) based in Argentina. She's a designer and educator, focused on textile recycling. Develops cultural projects towards creative participation, gender inclusion and ambiental consciousness. Collaborates in multiple projects with artists, designers, entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, governments and cultural venues.
Flor has been a speaker in multiple activities, representing Argentinian sustainable design since 2014. DACAL (Somos Dacal), based in Argentina since 2014 is a brand focused on sustainable clothing to reduce the environmental impact of clothing within education and partnerships.
They design garments to wear in harmony with the world and are dedicated to empowering businesses with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive.
DACAL (Somos Dacal) was awarded a seed fund from the programme “Argentine Exponential Design. Creative Bootcamp”, in which they participated in 2023. The programme is co-produced by the British Council and Bunge y Born Foundation in Argentina, in partnership with STEAMhouse. It aims to support creative and social economies in Argentina, selecting 15 entrepreneurs every year from the design sector working in the intersection between science, technology and sustainable development, and providing them with training, mentoring and the opportunity to compete for one of the 3 seed funds available.
During this interactive session, you will gain an overview of sustainability approaches and its real-world applications across various industries. They will take you on a journey to share the potential of sustainable practices to enhance SME operations and customer engagement.

You'll gain an overview of sustainability approaches and their real-world applications across various industries. Flor will highlight the opportunities and challenges associated with adopting sustainability initiatives for business growth. You will gain a brief overview of the history of the brand and resume of their business model, alongside being able to experiment with some of the techniques being used.
