Looking for volunteer hours? Come support young Black voices at the Speak On It! Justice-themed speech competition this November 26th.About this Event
The Lukasa Library is hosting its first-ever Speak On It! speech competition for high school students! Competitors will deliver 7–10 minute speeches on the theme of Justice, addressing the prompt on whether or not Pr*son abolition and police defunding could promote sustainable development for African/Afro-descendant people in Canada.
Speakers will be judged on delivery, organization, use of data, and enthusiasm, with a $300 prize for the winner. Spectators are invited to attend and can earn volunteer hours by supporting the event.
