WOODSTOCK TRUMPET LEGEND LUIS GASCA TO PERFORM IN HOUSTON APRIL 18
Houston, Texas – Music fans will have the rare opportunity to experience a living piece of music history when legendary jazz trumpeter Luis Gasca performs live in Houston on April 18.
Gasca rose to international recognition as the trumpet player in Janis Joplin’s Kozmic Blues Band, performing at the historic Woodstock Festival in 1969. His powerful trumpet sound became part of one of the most iconic moments in rock and music history.
Over a career spanning more than five decades, Gasca has performed and recorded with some of the most celebrated artists in the world, including
Santana,
Van Morrison,
Herbie Hancock, the Grateful Dead, and jazz legends such as Count Basie and
Tito Puente.
Born and raised in Houston, Gasca’s return to the city represents a special homecoming performance. Known for blending jazz, Latin jazz, rock, and soul influences, his performances deliver a unique musical journey through decades of groundbreaking music.
