Lucy May Walker's monthly writers round is an afternoon of original music in the style of a Nashville writers round where the 3 artists sit on the stage at the same time and take turns in playing songs & telling the stories behind them. The first two events previously sold out in record time, so make sure to book early to avoid missing out.

Lucy May Walker
Lucy began her music career by busking on the streets and train stations of London. It was here where she was discovered by BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine who helped catapult her career by inviting Lucy to perform live on both his Radio and TV show. Since then she has supported the likes of Wet Wet Wet, Tony Hadley & Texas as well as selling out numerous UK tours of her own. Her debut album Nothing Ever Stays The Same released in 2023 was played on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and features on Caffé Nero's instore playlist in all of their UK stores.
Forest Floor
Dan Addison and Si Norton are , Folkestone based indie-folk duo making thoughtful and arresting unplugged music for fans of Bon Iver, Fairport Convention, Dirty Projectors, Adrianne Lenker, Radiohead.
The duo have developed a rigorous co-writing process in the search for creative alchemy from their one-take unplugged format.
Sam Brothers
Sam Brothers is a Margate based Folk Singer/Songwriter whose performances bring to mind the Soho and Greenwich Village Folk Scenes of the 1960's. His often bluesy Guitar, Stompbox and Harmonica filled performances are deeply rooted in the music of greats such as Pete Seeger, Sonny Terry & Brownie Mcghee and Bob Dylan.
The first pressing of Sam's Debut album “Farewell To My Old Days”, (Recorded the old fashioned way - live onto tape) sold out within a year. He has just released a brand new EP titled "The Folksinger". Here's Sam performing a cover of Summertime
This event is held at the The Music Workshop, Folkestone.
The Music Workshop is a community space for music lovers of all levels. Come and enjoy a light bite, discover a new tune, experience the energy of live performances, or simply share in our passion for music.
It has a bar serving alcohol, hot drinks and a range of sweet snacks.
Tickets for this event are just £5 and spaces are very limited (every event has sold out in advance) The show will run from 4-6pm including an interval. Doors open at 3.30pm, the audience is seated with a mix of chairs, sofas and cushions on the floor, so make sure to get there early to guarantee a comfy one!
