Lucy May Walker's Writer's Round

Lucy May Walker's monthly Writer's Round is an afternoon of original music in the style of a Nashville writers round where the 3 featured artists sit on the stage at the same time and take turns in playing their songs & telling the stories behind them.

It is a chance for you to discover your new favourite artist in an intimate, cosy setting. Don't miss out on experiencing the most wholesome music event Folkestone has to offer.

Folkestone based Singer/Songwriter Lucy May began her music career by busking on the streets and train stations of London. It was here where she was discovered by BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine who helped catapult her career by inviting Lucy to perform live on both his Radio and TV show. Since moving to Folkestone in February, Lucy May Walker has made a name for herself, performing in various venues across the Town and collecting many fans along the way.

Sand and Stone are a sibling duo from Folkestone, writing original acoustic/folk rock music accompanied by their fynamic and soulful harmonies.

Spanish born, London based indie pop singer-songwriter. Laced with a warm 2000’s nostalgia, influences of Spanish songwriters with a modern touch and Shanilee’s soulful vocals, keep the stripped back organic feeling of live music in a room. This journey that she takes you on is met with beautifully poetic lyrics and her ability to write faultless melodies that take you exactly where you want to go, home at last.

The show will run from 4-6pm including an interval. Please arrive from 3.30pm when doors open to purchase a drink and grab yourself a seat (they do go quickly, but there'll also be an option to sit on a comfy cushion at the front if you miss out). Non-reactive well behaved dogs are welcome !

Spaces are very limited & past events have often sold out well in advance so make sure to book early to avoid disappointment. If you prefer to pay cash and avoid the eventbrite booking fee, simply pop into the venue with a fiver in advance and owner Daniel will pop your name down on the list. (If you wait until the day of the event, if it hasn't sold out you can pay otd but it will be more expensive)

This event is held at the The Music Workshop, Folkestone 1B Town Walk, Folkestone CT20 2AD (just a 10 minute walk from Folkestone Central Station) It has a bar serving both hot drinks, alcohol, pizzas and a range of sweet snacks.
