Letošní deska Lucrecie Dalt je hluboce upřímnou výpovědí o spletitosti lidského údělu. A Danger to Ourselves odkládá fantastické fiktivní příběhy minulé nahrávky ¡Ay!, s níž Dalt v roce 2023 navštívila smíchovskou továrnu poprvé. Od astrálních sfér a sci-fi mytologie odvrací pozornost hluboko do svého vlastního nitra a její nové album se tak stává intimním, emocemi nabitým opusem. „V minulosti jsem se často obracela k filmům a literatuře jako k zrcadlům, v jejichž odrazech jsem formovala své hudební příběhy – a tím jsem před své skutečné já stavěla fikci.”
Lucrecia Dalt, která letos vydala mimojiné taky soundtrack k psychologickému hororu Rabbit Trap, na své sedmé studiové nahrávce skládá minimalistické, avantgardní popové koláže z elektroniky i akustických nástrojů, které místy procesuje, ohýbá a transformuje k nepoznání. Precizní a kompaktní, místy až klaustrofobní produkce podtrhuje její nezaměnitelný vokál i mistrovskou práci s perkusemi dlouholetého spolupracovníka Alexe Lázara. Dodnes vzpomínáme na rytmickou akrobacii, s níž po boku Dalt odehrál pražský koncert v továrně před dvěma lety.

The latest release from Lucrecia Dalt is a fearless reflection on the unfiltered complexities of human connection. With A Danger to Ourselves, Dalt turns her gaze inward, stripping away the fictional narratives of previous records, including ¡Ay!, the acclaimed album she presented live at MeetFactory back in 2023. While that record imagined celestial spheres and sci-fi mythology, the new one delves into the raw intimacy of emotion and self-exploration. “In the past, I often turned to movies and texts as mirrors to shape my stories, guiding me away from revealing too much from within, inventing isolated fictions.”
Known for her boundary-pushing approach to sound, Dalt – who also released the haunting soundtrack for the psychological horror film Rabbit Trap earlier this year – builds minimalist, bold avantgarde pop collages from electronic textures and acoustic instruments, processing, bending and transforming them beyond recognition. Sonically unraveling like a deeply personal conversation, the record's production is precise and compact, both delicate and claustrophobic, accentuating her singular vocal and the intricate percussion work of longtime collaborator Alex Lázaro. We still remember the rhythmic acrobatics he brought to MeetFactory's stage two years ago.
