La Bomba is the low-end driven ensemble of Italian bassist, composer, and producer Luca Curcio, based between Berlin and Copenhagen. Built on raw improvisation and rewired through sampling aesthetics, the band creates a sound world where acoustic interplay collides with electronic production: grooves shift and reform, horn lines twist and dissolve, and micro-rhythms drive the pulse. Their debut album will be released on Boomslang Records on October 17, 2025.
For this Donau 115 edition La BOMBA appears in a special quartet formation featuring Luca Curcio (bass, sampler), Francesco Bigoni (tenor saxophone) and Simon Albertsen (drums) from the original Copenhagen lineup, joined by Igor Osypov (guitar). Together they reimagine La BOMBA’s sound in real time — raw, unpredictable, and alive.
