About this Event
Have you spotted Southend’s newest public artwork? Situated at the gateway to the High Street, 'Souvenirs & Suburbia' by Lu Williams takes the form of a large-scale fridge magnet and postcard, bringing together visual histories gathered from hundreds of Southend residents.
Join us at the gallery on Saturday 7 March at 4pm for this special in-conversation event between artist Lu Williams and writer and coach Ellen Mara De Wachter, which offers an opportunity to gain insight into the making of this public artwork and to learn more about Lu Williams’s artistic practice.
This special event forms part of the city-wide celebrations for City Day. Find out about other events on the day to make a full day visiting Southend!
The commission has been funded by Creative Estuary and Art Fund, and supported by Southend-on-Sea City Council. Find out more on our website.
