The LSE Twin Cities Alumni Group is hosting a “Welcome to the City” event on Wednesday, November 5! We’d love for members of the Twin Cities Alumni Network to join us.Our event will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at the Dampfwerk Distillery Cocktail Lounge, at 6309 Cambridge Street in St. Louis Park. There will be a $15 cover charge and cash bar. If you haven’t been to Dampfwerk you might want to check it out at this event. LSE alums held other events there last year and in May, 2025. There will be a $15 cover charge at the door and cash bar. Feel free to bring along a partner, colleagues or friends who might enjoy the evening with us.
As with LSE’s other past events, we will host a special guest speaker. For this event, we’ll be joined by Steve Grove, the CEO and publisher of the Minnesota Star Tribune (formerly the Minneapolis Star Tribune). Before assuming those posts in early 2023, Steve was the Commissioner of Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) from January, 2019 until through February, 2023 – including the turbulent time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to his time at DEED, Steve spent 12 years at Google where he was founding director of the Google News Lab. Steve has recently authored How I Found Myself in the Midwest, which is a particularly apt work for a “Welcome to the City” event! He will share his insights from his career experiences and his return to Minnesota after time spent elsewhere.
Please RSVP for this event to [email protected] or let him know of any questions you may have. When RSVPing, feel free, at your option, to include your organization and job title.
