About this Event
LSE PhD in Demography Showcase 2025
Demography explores the dynamics of population growth, factors affecting human fertility and reproduction, the morbidity and mortality consequences of disease, family formation and nuptiality, and migration. It is a vital discipline for understanding how economic development and climate change have affected populations and will affect populations in the future.
The demography research group at LSE (Pop@LSE) offers PhD degrees in demography/population studies within the Department of Methodology and is holding a showcase event on 18 November 2025 to give students an idea of what demography is, the diversity of paths that researchers have taken to studying it and funding opportunities. The showcase features four researchers at LSE who will share their story of how they chose to do a PhD in Demography and give a taste of what topics they are currently researching.
The presentations will take place from 18:30 to 19:30 and will be followed by a short reception. Please register your attendance on this Eventbrite page.
