SMALLS & TALLS: A DUET FOR TWO WOMEN

"Smalls & Talls is an intimate dramedy for two actresses, which traces the evolution of a friendship between two very different women. Samantha aka “Smalls,” a Black plus-sized software developer, has built an upperclass life for herself in San Diego and even managed to find love in the midst of a global pandemic. Her college best friend, Talia aka “Talls,” a petite mixed-race Latina firebrand, has spent the pandemic entangled in an abusive relationship and losing hope that her performing career will ever get off the ground in NYC. As the two women attempt to reconnect on a New Year’s Day hike, traversing literal mountains and also traveling through memories, old wounds around body image, race, and class are exposed. Smalls & Talls asks us: what does it actually mean to be a good friend? Should we hold on to friendships when our lives have taken different paths?"
