About this Event
Feed your passion for Southern cuisine with a hands-on class led by our CSCC chef-instructors. Low Country Cooking comes from the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia, where geography and climate produce fresh seafood, rice, beans, and corn. Influenced by the Gullah people of Saint Helena Island, this cuisine blends African traditions with Southern flavors.
In this 2–3 hour class, you’ll learn to prepare:
- Shrimp and Grits – Creamy, comforting, and full of flavor
- Frogmore Stew (Low Country Boil) – A traditional seafood boil with shrimp, corn, and potatoes
- Southern Biscuits – Fluffy and buttery, perfect for any meal
- Banana Pudding – A classic, sweet finish
- Pimento Cheese – Creamy, tangy, and versatile
Roll up your sleeves, learn authentic techniques, and enjoy the dishes you create in our Heidelberg Mixology Lab while we handle cleanup. Take in the downtown Columbus view and savor the flavors of the Low Country.
