About this Event
In partnership with Lake District National Park Authority, Zero Carbon Cumbria and engineering consultancy, Curtins, this breakfast event will discuss how carbon reduction can be achieved within Cumbria’s construction industry, and explore the particular challenges faced for developments in protected areas looking to achieve net zero carbon.
We invite you to join our partners and invited guests for breakfast and networking, followed by presentations and panel discussions from local experts.
Curtins will set the scene on the current carbon impact of the construction industry and provide best practice approaches to low carbon civil and structural design, with a focus on retrofitting existing buildings.
Lake District National Park Authority will share their expertise on the reuse of historic buildings to reduce carbon and protect our county’s great UNESCO World Heritage.
We are pleased to also welcome Zero Carbon Cumbria to introduce the important work they are facilitating to support the county’s ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2037.
To conclude the session, experts from Morgan Sindall, The Rebuild Site, Lakes College and Cumbria Action for Sustainability will join the speakers to explore topics on Decarbonisation and Skills across two panel discussions.
