About this Event
The 'Bella Dina' project honours both mine and Pontypridd's connection into Welsh-Italian heritage, including present day businesses like Zucco's. As a play on the Italian, 'Bella Donna' (Beautiful woman), the 'Bella Dina' dress, worn by me, is a suitably oppulany, dramatic and romantic celebration of love. This is depicted in the form of over 50 (and counting) 'lover's eye' paintings of my own loved one's, Zucco's owner, Enrico's family, and those created by members of the local community. In addition to celebrating love, connections between both Welsh and Italian communities and the people of Pontypridd are commemorated, adorned in pearls, beads and golden thread.
