Join us for "Love Your Hair: A Community Workshop for Parents and Carers of Children with Afro & Curly Hair" – an interactive half-day workshop designed to empower Black and mixed-race families in caring for and embracing their children's natural hair.

Did you know that 41% of Black and mixed-race children in the UK want to change their curly hair to straight? This workshop aims to tackle this issue by providing a welcoming space for parents, carers, and children to learn from experienced Afro hair care professionals.

Together, we will explore topics such as understanding curl textures, hair maintenance, detangling tips, product advice, and simple hairstyles for children through live demonstrations.

Led by the Hairducation Academy, founded by award-winning trichologist Salem Wynter-Baxter, this event promises to equip parents and carers with the essential skills to care for their children's hair.

Participants will receive a starter kit of hair products and free access to the Hairducation Academy online platform, ensuring ongoing support and guidance.

By attending this workshop, parents and carers will not only gain invaluable knowledge but support the movement to have Afro-textured hair recognized, accepted, and treated equally. Additionally, children will be encouraged to embrace their natural hair, promoting self-esteem, identity, and a positive sense of self.
