1. Grab a krewe, pick a captain, choose an area, and sign up to help keep the Channel Clean! (Link at bottom of post) We're working from 10-12 on April 19, still in time to head to FQF afterward! 2. Meet us at Pete’s that morning (or have your captain arrange ahead of time) to get gloves and garbage bags. We also have a very limited number of Love the Boot tees in various sizes that Keep Louisiana Beautiful has sent over; we’ll pass those out to krewe captains or to first arrivals that morning if any are left over.
3. If you want to tackle catch basins too, bring some tools (shovels, rakes, etc). Those are not provided by the cleanup efforts.
4. If you come across cans or glass, and can save those separately, recycle those or bring them to Pete’s and we will arrange for recycling.
5. Wagons/carts are suggested to carry your trash bags away. If you have the space, toss those bags in your garbage cans. If you don’t, bring them back to Pete’s and we’ll arrange to get them disposed of.
6. Email us at [email protected] and/or come by Pete’s that morning if you’re rolling solo and still want to help-we will find a group for you!
7. Join us afterward at Pete’s for Smoke Dat BBQ--Pete’s is buying a limited amount of lunches for people who volunteer, first come first served!
