Peggy Ratusz pays TRIBUTE TO BONNIE RAITT
Back in 2015, I pitched to Peter Eisenbrown, producer of the Summer Tracks music concert series, my Bonnie Raitt tribute show, called "Love Letter."
Peter and the town of Tryon were celebrating the 16th anniversary of Summer Tracks that year, and I was elated when he invited me and the amazing band I put together to bring the show to the Rogers Park Amphitheater.
The park was blanketed with folks from Saluda, Tryon, Columbus, Rutherfordton, Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville on that sweet sultry summer night in July. So you can understand what sweet serendipity it is that on this, the 10th anniversary of my show, Love Letter, A Tribute to Bonnie Raitt, we're bringing it back to the stage where it all began!
We'll celebrate Raitt’s legacy and her music. For more than 10 decades, she's inspired generations of female musicians with her unsurpassed prowess as a singer, guitarist and songwriter. We celebrate that her ethics and passion for music are used in the name of justice and civil rights, for peace and earthly harmony. We'll celebrate the undisputed fact that she is a renaissance woman of the ages.
From Blues, Folk, Roots, Americana, Pop, Rock and Soul, she changed the face of music. And she did it with class, gusto, style, wit, grit and grace. Her recent Grammy award for Song of the Year proved that she’s not done yet and her robust touring schedule, year after year gives every generation since she started this illustrious path, a chance to experience her musical genius.
Love Letter will be a powerful, exciting, nostalgic combination of some of her classic hits and my favorites. Love Letter is from all of us to Bonnie Raitt!
You are cordially invited to share in the celebration of this multifaceted icon, this global music Queen; the one and only Bonnie Raitt.
On slide, electric and acoustic guitars and backing vocals will be Jonathan “JP” Pearlman and Kelly Pierce Jones. Zack Page will be on bass, Kevin Sanders on keys and backing vocals and Justin Watt on drums. Mark your calendars now because you will not want to miss Love Letter, A Tribute to Bonnie Raitt featuring Best in Blues vocalist, Peggy Ratusz.
