About this Event
Well this is exciting! A new collection of songs here from stories I collected and ideas I've had from the past couple of years. A return to my songwriting of albums like Brokenhead and Vanished Days, I found some of these stories while on a Home Routes tour through Maniotba, which led to me writing a M**der ballad about Cartwright, MB and a song about a carpenter from the mines of Flin Flon. The title track Love Lasts Forever talks about loss and love. We also did a song written by a good friend Ron Maier who left us unexpectedly last year.
Grant Siemens and I flew to Moncton in November of 2025 to record this album to tape with Benoit Morier at his studio there. Chef Luc Schofield provided our Acadian food during the recording, some of which were meals that my mom used to cook for me when I was a kid.
This event will take palce in the Women of Vision Gallery at the St.Norbert Arts Centre. I will have a collection of my music inspired art on display during the event. We'll have vinyl and cd's of the new record there for purchase at a special price for those who can make it to the event. I imagine we'll also have some Acadian snacks too!
