Founded by Carson Marshall, Clearing the Stage brings together guided meditation and live music to lead audiences through a carefully shaped emotional arc. Rather than avoiding tension, this work invites us to sit with it and to notice what arises, to regulate, and to remain present. In doing so, we strengthen our capacity for resilience, empathy, and collective care.
The afternoon will unfold in three movements:
We begin with grounding and gentle guided awareness, settling the body and orienting to sound. From there, participants will be guided through simple, accessible movement as the music begins to weave its way through the room. Gradually, we’ll transition into stillness, allowing the full emotional arc of the music to carry us from spaciousness to intensity, then from dissonance toward integration.
Featuring solo and trio performances by Carson Marshall, Brian Atma Randeva, and Katherine Deneris, this experience highlights the expressive depth of violin and viola in both individual and collective voice. Matece Skow will guide the meditative arc and hold the shared container for the afternoon.
This is not a concert in the traditional sense.
It is a communal listening practice.
As the music softens, we will close in meditation and gather in a large group reflection circle to explore what was felt, noticed, and learned. Together, we ask: How might this kind of listening ripple outward into our relationships, our communities, and our world?
No prior meditation or musical experience is required. Come as you are. Bring curiosity. Bring a willingness to listen deeply.
Because peace does not begin “out there.” It begins here, in how we meet what arises.
