Discover stories of love, separation, conflict & reconciliation, told with warmth and energy in the atmospheric setting of the Great Parlour of Wightwick Manor on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October at 7pm each night.Step into the glow of Wightwick Manor this autumn for a captivating evening of traditional Indian storytelling with acclaimed British Punjabi storyteller Peter Chand, marking the festival of Diwali.
In ‘Love & Lamplight’, Peter brings to life timeless tales of love, separation, war, demons and reconciliation; stories he has gathered from across India and translated into English, weaving them together with the evocative art and architecture of Wightwick Manor itself.
British Indian storyteller Peter Chand is one of Europe’s most renowned storytellers and is constantly in demand for his tales of life, love, and the supernatural. From a Punjabi background, he regularly visits family in India to collect and translate traditional folktales which he shares with audiences of all ages.
He has recently been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University of Wolverhampton for his Storytelling activities and for championing storytellers from a global majority heritage.
During the interval, join us in the tearoom for chai and vegetarian samosas. Please inform us when booking of any dietary requirements. Please note, food and drinks cannot be consumed in the Manor.
This event is suitable for those aged 14 and over, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who also holds a ticket for this event. Please no stiletto heels or large bags; you may be asked to remove them and put into a locker. An extra layer is recommended on cooler evenings.
